Block Blast Puzzle
Block Blast is a block puzzle game from Hungry Studio that became one of the most downloaded puzzle games in the world in the early 2020s. It takes inspiration from classic falling-block puzzles but removes the time pressure: pieces do not fall, and you place them wherever you like. The result is a calm but surprisingly deep game about planning space.
You get three pieces at a time, shaped like lines, squares, L-shapes and more. Drag each one onto the 8x8 board. Completely filling a row or column clears it and earns points. Once all three pieces are placed, you get three new ones. The game ends when none of your current pieces can fit anywhere.
Block Blast's success comes from its perfect balance of relaxation and challenge. Each move feels low pressure, yet one careless placement can end a long run. Many players use it as a calm way to unwind, while others chase very high scores by mastering combos and board management.
The most common reason games of Block Blast end early is filling the center of the board with awkward shapes. Many experienced players keep one edge or corner clear as a safe zone for large pieces. Another frequent mistake is placing the easiest piece first without considering whether the remaining two will still fit. Spending a few extra seconds visualizing all three placements prevents most game-ending situations.
